Gregory Alan Isakov
If you haven't heard Gregory Alan Isakov's music, you are in luck. Everything about it is so beautiful.
I first heard him when I was working for the city of Benbrook, a job I hated. It was the kind of place where everyone wore a mask all day, performing a version of themselves that had nothing to do with who they actually were. We all did it to survive. Every day wound me tighter.
I was having another miserable afternoon there when Spotify suggested him to me. His music was the opposite of that office - authentic in a way that cut right through the noise. It made me go still and calm inside.
The video linked here is the exact perfect moment of that perfect song.
